Painter based out of New Haven, Connecticut with a degree from Briar Cliff University in Studio Art.
There is a certain serenity that comes through monotony or repetition in my work; these obsessive motions and rhythms are what I use to let
my mind wander freeing my hand to work naturally. A dreamlike state where time is irrelevant and thoughts merge into white noise, the
afterglow of an orgasm. This mindlessness is where I find my joy, an empty head and a working hand allows me to paint images that are
simultaneously outside of myself and a self-narrative.
The major influences of my work have been eastern philosophies, especially Taoism and Zen Buddhism, graffiti culture, the death of my sister,
and the bleakness of Nebraska and the Midwest, where I spent my formative years. These influences coalesce and are examined through my
use of materials and themes I explore such as: the subjectivity of reality, identity, mortality, and the abstraction of language.
