A few weeks back I had the opportunity to stop by Birdland one of our favorite venues for mind blowing Jazz music
in this amazing city. As always when I am at Birdland I am in the mode of thought and creation.
At Birdland, Childs joined “The Jazz Masters,” Dave Liebman (saxes) Buster Williams (bass) and Billy Hart (drums),
for their residency July 29th through August 2nd, 2014 and returned with his Allstar Jazz Quartet featuring
saxophonist Steve Wilson, bassist Hans Glawischnig, and drummer Ari Hoenig, February 17–21st, 2015.
And the experience was more than educational and satisfying, its hard to put great Jazz into words but suffice it to
say when these masters take the stage its something that is not easily forgotten.
