What's in a Price?
A Comparison of National Home Price Series

Since all real estate is local, interpreting changes in home prices at the national or
metropolitan level can be difficult. Not only that, but with so many housing price
measures it can also be difficult to determine what the data each series presents
is saying about the housing market. In order to break down the various series
and detail their differences, the Research Division has compared the four major
home price indexes that market participants follow. They are the National
Association of REALTORS® Median Sales Price, the Case-Shiller Index group,
and two Conventional Mortgage Home Price Indices: one by the Office of
Federal Housing Enterprise
Oversight (OFHEO) and one by Freddie Mac.

*LEED 2.0 Gold certified
*Green Power
*Native LandscapingGreen building is the practice of increasing the efficiency
with which buildings use resources — energy, water, and materials — while
reducing building impacts on human health and the environment during the
building's lifecycle, through better siting, design, construction, operation,
maintenance, and removal.

Green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact of the built environment
on human health and the natural environment by:

Efficiently using energy, water, and other resources
Protecting occupant health and improving employee productivity
Reducing waste, pollution and environmental degradation
A similar concept is natural building, which is usually on a smaller scale and tends
to focus on the use of natural materials that are available locally. Other commonly
used terms include
sustainable design and green architecture.

The U.S. Treasury announced guidelines for dealing with financial institutions in
need of rescue. The details are based on the Nov. 23 decision to loan $5 billion
to Citigroup.
The Treasury said eligibility for the program will be considered on a
case-by-case basis - there is no deadline for participation.

"The objective of this program is to foster financial market stability and thereby
to strengthen the economy and protect American jobs, savings, and retirement
security," a Friday press release said.

The world has drastically changed, most of the things you can see now are
high-rise buildings or sky scrapers and modern houses but in some parts of the
globe there are still some people who live in their traditional houses.

Shelter is one of the basic needs of men in order to survive. People have
developed their houses base on the availability of materials and its suitability to
its location. Styles, structural designs and materials used vary in different places
creating a house distinct to another.

Here's a list of unique houses from different part of the globe. Many of them are
still in existence and being use while some have not been in used and can only be
seen in books or
dioramas in museum.
