When asked what I do, I usually tell people, "I paint portraits of dead celebrities. I work on fascination; the fascination of death, of a celebrity’s life, or an
aspect of popular culture. My paintings never try to be depressing or offensive but more campy and entertaining. A celebrity doesn’t die like a regular
person, they die in a very different way and I explore the life and death of the celebrity I am painting. Keep dying celebrities....I'll be waiting for you.
Born on Long Island and graduated college with my BFA I slowly realized that I wasn't happy in graphic design so I gave up looking for
work in it and became an unemployed artist. Im fascinated in morbid or disturbing things so I started to paint dead celebrities, what was a
hobby became a passion. I started showing my work in bars, my first being at Sugarland in Williamsburg then a few from then on until I
recently showed at the Windows Gallery in the Lower East Side. I spend my days doing research for new portrait ideas, you can obviously
see my life is riddled with excitement.
