Drawing is fundamental to my artistic practice and I believe the basis to all good image making.
Although I am a trained portrait painter narrative plays a large part in my work with even still life having a story to tell. I often work in series which
allows for development in thought and seeing, using different materials and methods, exploring a theme, sometimes over quite a long period of
time. My intent is to portray the uniqueness of my subjects as I see them.
I was born and raised on the west coast of Canada but have spent all of my adult life in England where my work has been included in various
exhibitions, including the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. I am an active participant in the county
wide Dorset Open Studios event and belong to an artists' co-opoerative gallery in East London.
I enjoy the artistic process enormously and work all day, every day.
