Artist Statement

The name 'Viajero' evolved from a caricature into the philosophy of my work. I
believe we are all travelers on a journey through life, a voyage of infinite
possibilities. Through our travels, we stop briefly to meet, love and share
encounters with one another; however precious, these moments are transient.
The term " Viajero" is a representation of our journeys and my purpose is to
carry the consciousness of timeless being, in the midst of a time-bound
experience. Family, culture, history, and LIFE are the inspirations of my work.
These are the ingredients of my identity. Various types of wood are my current
canvas of choice. The cracks, colors, textures, and "imperfections" of the
wood help support the stories.
