“Go Quiet for the Answers To Your Questions ”
By: Nina Mistier
The answers you seek to all your questions are within you. When you go quiet and listen to your inner voice
without panic and urgency you will get the answers to all your concerns, if you pay attention. We tend to go
through life as if we are playing a part in someone else’s movie, without control of what happens next. What
about your movie where you are the main character?
What is the very first thing you do in the morning? Do you put the television or radio on or do you listen to the
quiet of the early morning? When you get in your car to drive to work or meet a friend do you automatically put
the radio on? Are you conscious of the things you say or do you talk incessantly so there is no quiet? Most
people are constantly filling their minds with outside sounds; music, talking, tv and so on. They do this because
they are afraid of what will come to them in the quiet. What if thoughts come that you don’t want to deal with?
We cannot hide from ourselves, we must acknowledge all our thoughts so we can begin to control them and sift
through the ones we want and the ones we don’t want. There are millions of thoughts that enter the mind
throughout the day; they do not all deserve our attention. There are good thoughts and bad thoughts, just as there
are good and bad people. We choose the people we want to associate with and we must also choose the thoughts
we wish to focus on.
The mind is like an untrained puppy, unfocused and all over the place and it is our job to train the puppy how to be
house trained so we can get along and revel in one another’s presence. It is the same with the mind, it takes time
to train, so be patient, as you would with the puppy. I remember training all my puppies took approximately nine
months to one year on average. Can you imagine what would happen if you took the time and energy to train your
mind for nine months to a year? Wow, you would have more control of your thoughts and a greater ability to
create the life you want. Isn’t it interesting that it takes nine months on average, the same amount of time it takes
to create a healthy baby? Creation is a beautiful and sometimes painful process, but the end result is always worth
it.
Once we “grow up” and have responsibilities, we tend to live in survival mode, going through the motions of
another day of all we have to do, rather than reveling in the joy of what we have. Life can certainly be
overwhelming, but our reaction to life and the perception we choose to take at each moment will dictate the future.
The second chakra is the energy center responsible for creation which resides in the pelvic region, the sexual
organs and organs of reproduction. Sit quietly and focus on your breathing. As you breathe more deeply, allow
the breath to rest in the second chakra for a moment before you exhale. Put attention to this area, send light into
this area for a few moments. By doing this simple exercise you are telling your brain this area needs attention and
I am giving it the attention it needs. As you focus on your creative energy center, you may begin to notice
creative ideas come to you or you awaken something else in this area. Where ever you focus your attention is
where you will see results. Remember, energy flows where attention goes. Live consciously and be aware of
your thoughts, by giving attention to positive ones and telling the negative ones to leave. Take the time to be quiet
and train your mind for a few minutes each day.
If you need the answer to a question, pose it to your mind or write it down before you go to sleep and then let it
go. You may dream helpful information or things might come to you in the next day or so if you pay attention.
Create a new and healthful habit of being silent for just a few moments each day. Take this small amount of time
to focus on an area of yourself that needs attention or to take a break from thinking so much and trying to figure
everything out. Sometimes, the mind needs to go quiet in order to work more efficiently. If you don’t know
what to think about, then think of something you are grateful for or something that makes you smile. If all else
fails, just breathe.
