“Visualization is a Key to Success”
By: Nina Mistier
Your thoughts hold the key to your success in life. I remember in elementary school I was in the ‘Future Teacher’s Club” because I saw
myself in the role of teacher over and over when I grew up. Well, guess what I grew up and became a teacher; what a surprise! Your
mind is a tool of creation; a computer. It creates an image and if you feel the feelings attached to the image, you are sending a message
out to the universe that this image is what you want to create. This is why it is important to have some control of your thoughts.
There is positive and negative in every aspect of life, inside each of us and all throughout the universe. I am sure you have heard how
strong the power of prayer is, this is a form of visualization. It is focused attention on one thought; the visualization of something
happening in a particular way. When it happens, is it viewed as a miracle or do we recognize that our focused attention took part in the
outcome?
Practice visualization and see for yourself. While driving toward your home after work, visualize a parking spot right where you want it.
You might notice after visualizing this space for a week or so the spot will be available to you at just the right time. The key is to be in
tune with yourself and the world around you; don’t fight things so hard. You need to become part of the flow of life and you will see
how easily things happen. I know a man who has terrible road rage and hates the way the lights in the city are set up. Every time he left
his home he would pull out of his parking garage and sit at the red light on the corner. As he sat there each day he felt angry, twisted, out
of control and his thoughts were how he always had to sit at this light and it was never green when he left his home. Well, that is exactly
what happened day after day because he consistently created that. Other people who left the same parking lot pulled out and sailed
through the green light each time they left.
You can apply this to a job situation or starting a business, creating a painting or decorating your home. You must see the finished
product before you begin. Interviews with sculptors all contain the same words and that was they saw the finished masterpiece before
they began. Their job was to chip away at the excess clay until the perfect and finished product appeared. It is the same for us in
creating our lives. We must take control over our thoughts and feelings.
Do not let life go by as if you have no say in what happens to you. Make choices, think about what you want, see it in your mind over
and over, feel what it feels like to have those things or be in that position and by doing so you are sending a message out to the universe to
bring this to you. It is important to understand how powerful this process is, because if you focus on fears or negative outcomes,
unfortunately you will bring them into your life, as well. So make an effort, take some time to think about what you do want, not what
you don’t want and see what happens…
