Rachel Constantine is a classically trained oil painter, who works in the realist tradition with elements of Impressionism. Her work is an ongoing
“autobiography of images”- one that uses the figure as a metaphor to explore current themes in her life - and utilizes the people, places and
objects that are closest to her.

She is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Certificate of Excellence from the Portrait Society of America, five awards from the
Woodmere Art Museum in Pennsylvania, eleven from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and one from the Allied Artists of America in
NYC. Her work has been exhibited in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Museum, Philadelphia City
Hall, the National Arts Club in New York City, and the Woodmere Art Museum in Chestnut Hill, PA. Three of her paintings were featured in Alla
Prima: A Contemporary Guide to Traditional Direct Painting, published in 2009 by Watson-Guptil, NY. Her work is in the permanent collection of
the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and in October of 2013 she had her curatorial debut with “Beyond the Surface: The Power of
Conceptual Realism”, hosted by Principle Gallery in Alexandria, VA.
Constantine holds a certificate in painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
She lives and works in Center City Philadelphia.
