What have The Jones’s bought this time?

Well another year has passed the holidays have come and gone we bought our children “almost” everything they
wanted we kissed our familys good night and prayed that tomorrow would see a change for the better.

Yes 2008 was a tough year for so many people including myself that I thought it was time to take a stand and
create a way of thinking that would pull me through under any circumstances, trouble at work no problem, money
is tight nothing to worry about, housing market down the tubes, financial market shattered I would just find a
word and use it like a hypnotic suggestion and all problems would disappear and there would be no distractions in
the plan. A new positive time a new feeling a new science an optimistic approach towards the future, of course
these other problems would not disappear into thin air but without the proper frame of mind I would not be able to
help anyone including myself. Yes positivity I thought at times would be to hard to grasp and hold onto so I
grabbed hold of an idea, a reminder to keep things in check. I was having dinner at the Fannelli café in Soho and
talking with a lawyer who was interested in a few ideas I was mulling over for this year, we began to discuss the
state of the economy and its effects on so many business’s and people and the hard times that were hitting so
close to home and I said to him I just try to stay as Optimistic as possible. That was it the word sparked the idea

To create a daily reminder that would not only train my mind to avoid all the catastrophe coming down around me
but to create a platform that would actually help change things and bring some happiness to people that might
really need it.

After 15 years of working as a fine artist and creative director in the media business I decided to start a program
called The New York Optimist which was not only a great description for myself but for so many others that I
was amazed at the amount of response I was receiving immediately from people all over the city and all over the
world for that matter. After realizing that the media was in the midst of a major shift the internet was becoming a
place where individuals with ideas could start their own businesses and discover success and other media
branches such as print, magazines and newspapers were feeling the crunch of the economy and cutting back in
every way.

Based on the staggering amount of people who were tuned into this

Net of connectivity I took all my experience in the entertainment and media industry and began to build a program
that is now receiving 50,000 happy readers a week and growing every day.

Galleries and artists that I knew were happy to jump on the Optimistic train and take a ride into the future with all
the right intentions, musicians and club owners that I knew were also on board as well as so many other
businesses and organizations.

So here it is The New York Optimist a real source for entertainment and leisure with a new featured artist and
gallery every week and so much information about the subjects people like most.

I invite everyone to join me in this approach to a stronger and more positive future, and I offer myself and www.
